About Amazing Singapore

The domain sat empty for years — a blue under-construction card in 2001, then a parking page. We rebuilt it as the publication the name always suggested: a Singapore travel and city guide written in British and Singapore English, for a Singapore audience first.

That means we assume you know what an HDB void deck is, that you have opinions about chicken rice, and that you would rather be told which Maxwell stall still takes cash at 11.40am than be sold a generic “top ten things to do”. Visitors are welcome. The test is whether a resident in Queenstown or Tampines would forward the piece to a friend.

The desk organises work into five hubs: Hawker & Food, Neighbourhoods, Parks & Nature, Getting Around and Weekends & Living. Every guide is original, long-form and linked from a hub, the home page or the footer. Nothing lives as an orphan URL.

We commission freelance work. If you have a reported essay on a neighbourhood, a hawker line, a park loop or a public-holiday problem, read the guest post guidelines and send a pitch. Paid placements and sponsored links are labelled and carry rel="sponsored". Corrections go to the contact desk.

Photographs are Creative Commons or public domain, stored on this site, and credited both on the page and on the image credits list. Our editorial standards explain sourcing, updates and how we treat sponsored work.
